What do members think about their experience?
My AIESEC experience has helped shape me to be a better leader and love myself for who I have been. I've been part of many leadership bodies, but AIESEC was the best place ever. I was a shy person and had never led a team before. But AIESEC has directed me towards many first and fantastic adventures, learning about the community, meeting industry experts, and teaching me how to take on challenges. I was afraid to speak up in front of ten people before, but now AIESEC has given me the exposure to speak up bravely in front of thousand people. The most significant moment I would ever appreciate AIESEC is for giving me a chance to lead a team as LCVP, and I'm thrilled to experience every single phase with my members. AIESEC developed me, and I was happy to develop my members. Joining AIESEC has helped me learn professional skills like attending conferences to learn about resumes, LinkedIn showcasing, and mock interviews. Those skills and experience have given me confidence and knowledge about the workforce. As finance students, we always get exposure to numbers; thanks to AIESEC, I've been able to experience a variety of fields and can manage a few different departments. That's how AIESEC shaped me, and I'm proud to be an AIESECer.
AIESEC has provided me a safe space to explore more about myself through feedback and self-reflection spaces. I have a better understanding of who I am today when I discovered my strengths, my weaknesses, and most importantly, my leadership style.
Being able to meet like-minded people is always the treasure I found in AIESEC. We shared ideas and made things from impossible to possible. The strong momentum within the team to strive for better in ourselves and for the entity has helped us grow a lot.
As a graduate, I realized the working environment today values leadership experience among candidates. This has eased my journey to secure my internship opportunity and my first job after graduation. The agility and proactiveness I learned from AIESEC have also allowed me to perform better than my peers in the workplace.
AIESEC had been a life-changing organization in my university life that broadened my view towards the lifecycle of events, organizations, and the whole social ecosystem with an emphasis on empowering others and myself. The key is the realization of how powerful leadership is in shaping me to be a better person, leader, and member of the community. The whole journey has taught me a lot about the integration of soft and hard skills, which has accelerated my ability to adapt quickly in my current career advancement and corporate setup. I appreciated the existence of the platform and the willingness of people in the organization who are always keen to foster a better and safe environment, enabling people to learn not only by doing but also by failure and understanding the "why" behind it. I guess AIESEC has taught me a lot about how to take a step back while I am in the picture, and that leadership is always the key to the fulfillment of humankind's potential, creating a positive ripple effect in any ecosystem.
